Here are some recent pictures I have taken of the kids and Hawaii.

A New Family Member

Meet the newest member of the family.

We had given Spartacus to his new owner on Monday and found this sweetie on Thursday. There was an ad on craigslist for a huge litter of puppies on the North Shore. They were half lab and I was definitely interested.Β Jason agreed to check them out and we had a beautiful drive up the North Shore at Sunset. So pretty.

There were 8-9 puppies and we had a hard time deciding. Well, we didn’t have any trouble eliminating the ones who looked like full labs because they were HYPER. They kept jumping and biting the kids clothes. Then we see our puppy with her brother, sitting quietly in the corner. We loved how calm they both were with all the chaos going on around them. So it came down to the two of them. Sweet Pea proclaimed she wanted a girl, but Jason wanted a boy since he would be huge (his paws were enormous).

He chose to go with Sweet Pea’s wishes.

Her name is Nalani. She is a shepherd and lab mix We decided to with a Hawaiian name for Hawaiian dog. It means heavenly calm. And it suits her so far. She is sweet and smart. She is pretty calm. She plays hard for 20-30 minutes and then sleeps for an hour. She has caught on to house-training in an unbelievable amount of time. No accidents in the house, yet. She loves to cuddle, which is probably because she was from a litter of 10 and used to a warm body to play or sleep with..

We have all fallen in love with her and we are so happy she joined our family. Jason especially, he finally feels he’s got a “man’s dog”. haha

I’m over it.

This is my blog and I need to complain.

I’m tired of not being healthy. This past month of my life has sucked for me, health-wise. Having surgery for the cyst that caused internal bleedingΒ sucked. Then I got sick with a cold, not a big deal but it caused a sore throat. This was three weeks ago. I thought it was getting better so I get excited to start working out. I make it one day because another cyst burst that night. *sigh* And when a cyst burst it causes a lot of pain and discomfort over the 2-3 days. After I get over THAT my throat still isn’t better.. I finally go to the ER last night because I am in tears just trying to swallow or talk. I’ve taken a whole bottle of motrin in the past two weeks.

I have strep and got a lovely shot in the butt, so I should be feeling better tomorrow or Saturday. And hopefully that will be it.

I am tired of my son fighting me every time I turn around. He is a typical two year old boy. Jason and I are constantly choosing what battles we should and shouldn’t fight. It has been a long week where sleep battles have been the worst. This is a battle I told Jason I’m not fighting this week.

I’m tired of not having a clean house. I’ve been under the weather/sick/laid up for a freakin month. I have a couple of days where I get it back to where I want it and then 3-4 days where I feel like crap. I want to be able to stay on top of things like usual.

I’m over loved ones being hurt or going through difficult times.

I’m tired of our finances taking a hit. We have had thousands of dollars in unexpected bills the past 2-3 months. I am grateful that we haven’t had to drop into our savings much, but I want to start putting money back in savings again. Or maybe go on a vacation this year.

I’m over not having any energy and little motivation.

I am grateful for my wonderful husband. My kids who can always make me laugh. Good Friends and an awesome family. I have a lot of things to be thankful for, but I just want things to go back to “normal” for a couple of months.

Picture Post

Here are the photos from April. πŸ™‚ A lot of them were taken from my new Iphone. Woot!!

An update post.

I am going to be honest, I haven’t felt like blogging. I haven’t felt like doing much of anything lately.

Just a quick post to update everyone.

Bubby – is talking our ears off. He will not let his big sister talk for him. He wants to tell us thing. It is so cute, yet hard to understand. He doesn’t speak the clearest, but it is adorable. The other day, he came up to tell me “Are you going to dance, or not?” His little hand signals were so cute. Then he told me to “come on” dragged me to the garage and we danced to the music Jason was playing in the garage.

He started a tumbling class, and LOVES it. It is totally up his alley. I’ll share some pictures in the next post.

Sweet Pea – So talkative as usual. She had a doctor’s appointment this past week. The doctor told me she always forgets how old Sweet Pea is because she is SO talkative and speaks so clearly. Anyway, she is perfectly healthy. Still 50% in height and weight. (36lbs and 40 inches). She has the longest legs though, I feel like I am always buying her clothes because she outgrows all her skirts and dresses so quickly. Luckily she doesn’t need to wear pants here. πŸ˜‰

She still loves ballet class and is getting better at it every week.

Jason – He went on a 2 week deployments to some islands near Australia. I think he enjoyed it for the most part, even though he didn’t really want to go at first. He did get a sinus infection while there, so that was miserable having to fly in a plane with pressurization problems. He is very stressed with work. He has some qualifications he needs to get and a test he needs to pass. So if you could please say a prayer or two from him? He doesn’t care much for his duty station, and the extra stress on him makes it more difficult for him. Thank you.

Me – I don’t know if I posted this before, I got accepted into Franklin University in Ohio. I will be taking an online degree program to become a certified personal financial planner. I will help people get out of debt, plan for retirement, etc. I am excited to get started. Unfortunately I won’t be taking any summer classes because I had some things to deal with (such as Jason being gone for 2 weeks) And on another “interesting” tidbit, I had to have an emergency laparoscopic surgery performed. I’ll post more details on that later, but let’s just say. my ovaries SUCK. lol It is a long story and I don’t want to type it all right now.

Other than that, things have been chugging along.

Sweet Pea’s Adventures

Sweet Pea had quite an eventful couple of weeks. She started ballet class and went to a father daughter dance thrown by some friends.

She is LOVING dance class. She gets so excited whenever she knows that class is the next day. Β I do plan on signing up Bubby for tumbling class. He is on the waiting list. πŸ™‚

Jason and Sweet Pea had a blast at the dance. Although, Jason said she only wanted to dance by herself. I guess she had to show off her moves. πŸ˜‰ They did a fun craft, got flowers, lei’s, and a pretty necklace. I know it is something she will remember for years to come.

Here are the pictures from dance class and the father/daughter dance.

New Tattoo

I took the plunge and got a new tattoo. I did it to memorialize my two great-grandmother’s that passed away from Alzheimer’s.

It went from being a simple ribbon on the wrist, to maybe a butterfly, then to a bird holding the Alzheimer’s Awareness ribbon. I love it. I got it done at 434 Custom Tattoos in Waikiki. It is a small tattoo parlor, but the guys are very nice and professional. We had a good time talking to them, even when that needle was in my arm. πŸ˜‰

Love you Grandma P and M!!

In memory of two wonderful women.

Snorkeling and Fun in Hawaii!

I need something to lighten my mood up. My sister, brother in law, and niece came into town. I really hope they enjoyed themselves, even though it rained the majority of the time they were here. 😦

We actually had a new experience and FINALLY went snorkeling at Hanauma Bay. I loved every second of it. Jason enjoyed himself too. We are going to try and do it more often. It is not something that is family friendly though, at least families with small children. I prefer to have someone by my side when swimming. I am not the world’s strongest swimmer. Plus most places are very rocky and the reef that can be damaged. I don’t want my kids or the reef to be harmed. Definitely going to have to get a baby-sitter soon and go to another snorkeling spot.

My sister’s family tried to do everything they could. I just wish the weather would have been nicer. The beaches are so much prettier when the sun is out.

We all tried Donkey Balls for the first time. They were yummy and expensive. The kids really liked the dingle berries. hahahaha

Anyway, it was a good time. It was wonderful for my niece and Sweet Pea to play. They even had sleepovers in Sweet Pea’s room. It makes me a little sad though, I really wish we lived closer to our family. What can you do? It is something we knew would happen with Jason being in the Coast Guard.

Here are some pictures that we took snorkeling, and other stuff. πŸ™‚ If you every come to Hawaii, snorkeling needs to be one your bucket list!!

Happy Halloween from The Flintstones.

So, the kids dressed up as Pebbles and Bam Bam. πŸ™‚ I modified one of Jason’s shirts and he put on a tie I got at Goodwill.

The kids were adorable, and we got lots of compliments on Bubby’s costume. He made the perfect Bam Bam. Sweet Pea loved her costume and modeled whenever she could.

The costumes were really cheap. I think I spent 12-14 bucks to make them both. My mom came up with the idea of using a pillowcase and I modified it a bit. Super easy, super cheap.

So here are our Halloween pictures. πŸ™‚ We had a great time trick or treating and then eating with the “K” family. πŸ™‚
